Every repair starts with an inspection and a spoken estimate. You approve the work, and the price, before we touch a single shoe. These are our everyday bench rates.

The craft
Hands, not shortcuts.
Mara Hart learned the trade from her father, who learned it from a cobbler in Porto.
Today she still cuts heel lifts with a knife, tests dye on hidden leather, and knows a good shoe by the way it bends in her hand. There is no machine on the bench that replaces that.
We believe repair is a form of stewardship: less waste, better materials, and the quiet pleasure of something made well. Most of the shoes we see could give another five years of wear with a few hours of honest work.

Leather care, at home
Four habits that keep leather alive
01Condition, don't drown
Use a quality leather conditioner every 8–12 weeks. A little goes a long way, apply with a soft cloth and let it soak in overnight.
02Brush before you buff
A soft horsehair brush lifts dirt and restores the nap. Brush after every few wears; polish less often than people think.
03Cedar trees, not stuffing
Cedar shoe trees absorb moisture, hold the shape, and smell wonderful. Newspaper works in a pinch but doesn't breathe.
04Never dry on a radiator
Wet leather dries slowly, at room temperature, away from heat. Heat cracks leather and shrinks the heel counters.
